Napier & Blakeley are independent, trusted and knowledgeable advisors to the property and development industries.

Our purpose is to inform B2B property decisions through the lens of Cost, Risk & Return – helping our clients act with confidence, improving the quality and resilience of the property sector and our built environment.

With over 38 years in business, we specialise in building consulting, quantity surveying, property tax deductions, energy efficiency and property sustainability.

We are recruiting for a Building Services Engineer in our Sydney office.  Reporting to the local Building Consulting Manager, this is a unique opportunity to develop a professional and challenging career as a Building Services Engineer, working with clients nationally across all commercial property asset sectors.

Our Consulting services include:

  • Property transaction technical due diligence
  • Capital and maintenance expenditure forecasts
  • Project / development monitoring
  • Operational performance reviews and expenditure analysis
  • Energy efficiency assessments
  • Building improvement reports
  • Net Zero assessments
  • NABERS/BEEC ratings
  • Assets & facilities management plans

Our point of difference is that we provide commercially focused advice on the issues that matter to our clients, not purely technical analysis.  This provides them with relevant, concise and accurate information upon which to act. We are the market leader in this area of expertise and as a result receive referrals from major property investors, financiers and agents.

As an ambitious and professional candidate, you will possess the following skills and experience:

  • You will have a well-developed ability to understand client objectives and to align our approach with theirs.
  • Relevant experience in property consulting.
  • A background primarily in commercial properties and projects, preferably with experience in the facilities / operational management of multi-site or large scale facilities.
  • Experience conducting building inspections and condition assessments, co-ordinating and managing inspection teams and forming commercially relevant recommendations and cost estimates.
  • A knowledge of and accreditation in either NABERS/BEECs or Green Star would be favourable, but is not essential.
  • Your report writing skills will be well developed and complement your proven technical building knowledge.
  • Whilst being proficient at prioritising your own time and workload, you should also enjoy working within a team environment and contributing to the overall success of the organisation, matching the values and culture of Napier & Blakeley.

The role will be based in Sydney, with the opportunity to travel from time to time to fit with our national team approach to consulting commissions and to meet client deadlines.
