Rebecca Jinks has been made the new director of ESG and sustainability at venture capital and private equity company Taronga Ventures

JOBS NEWS: David Chandler has decided to stay in the role, less than two months after he resigned over concerns about minister and developer relationship. 

It’s no surprise to anyone that they couldn’t find a replacement. The NSW Fair Trading Minister Victor Dominello, has welcomed David Chandler’s decision to stay on in his role until August 2023. 

“In the year ahead, the focus will be on continued advocacy for industry change to deliver key projects, including Project Remediate and a new initiative known as Project Intervene, where we are working with the strata community to help rectify serious defects in existing buildings,” Mr Dominello said.

Rebecca Jinks has been made the new director of ESG and sustainability at venture capital and private equity company Taronga Ventures. She has been at Cushman & Wakefield for more than a decade, most recently holding the position of head of sustainability and ESG in Asia Pacific at the leading global real estate services firm. 

The role builds on her work in real assets to reduce the industry’s impact and improve responsible business practices towards a low carbon economy.  

Matthew Hyatt has left MRA Consulting Group to become head of sustainability at Bingo Industries. He held a range of roles at the consultancy, including most recently the NSW strategy and commercial team lead. 

He also has experience at the NSW Environmental Protection Authority, and renewable energy semiconductor manufacturer Pulpmaster Australia

Siemens Australia has announced the appointment of Peter Halliday as new chief executive and chair, effective from 1 September. He has been at the company for 24 years, and held senior roles within the company in Australia, Asia and Europe. He is currently senior vice president at Siemens Smart Infrastructure.

Current chair and chief executive Jeff Connolly will leave the company on 31 August after over 37 years.  

Matthias Rebellius, member of the managing board made the announcement saying: “We are pleased to confirm Peter as the new chief executive for Siemens Australia. Peter’s extensive local and global leadership and technical experience will be pivotal to shaping future growth and the digital transformation of our customers in Australia and New Zealand. 

“I also want to thank Jeff Connolly for his incredible contribution to shaping the brand and reputation of Siemens in the region. Jeff is not only highly regarded in Siemens but also across industry and government for his contributions to progressing critical topics related to manufacturing and Industry 4.0, the energy transition including hydrogen and the need for intelligent infrastructure in Australia.”   

Kate Doyle is finishing up her time at Renew as interim chief executive officer, as Dr Fiona Gray takes the reins.
