
6 February 2014 – Mirvac launched its new sustainability strategy on January 30 with the theme, This Changes Everything.
Among the ambitious new targets are:
- To be net positive by 2030 – “generate more water and energy than we consume and finding ways to capture and reduce waste beyond that which we create
- Create a framework for the future of place by 2015, that “should be adaptive so it seeks to

- The first smart portfolio by 2020 – designed to improve its own performance and ease of operation over its lifecycle
- Water – reduce potable water by 15 per cent by 2018, increase water recatpure and recycling to 15 per cent by 2018
- Waste – recycle 75 per cent of waste by 2018; zero waste by 2030; implement three closed loop recycling projects by 2018

- Install 1 MW renewable energy by 2018
- Materials – pre-qualify 50 per cent of the supply chain on their aligned sustainable practices by 2015; complete a life cycle assessment for all new projects starting June 2014
- Lifestyle –develop a sustainable lifestyle index for implementation by 2015
- Create a “One Planet Living” community by 2018
- Skills and training – educate 1 million people on sustainability by 2020
- Technology – deliver our first smart building by 2018
- Community investment – create a data capture system for measuring and montory community investment across the whole business by 2015
- Social impact – develop and utilise SROI methodology
