Tune in online or get in touch for some in person tix and networking at CBRE offices Sydney 4 pm, next Wednesday 30 August.

In the Festival of Electric Ideas our masterclass series has made a brilliant start on understanding the challenges we face to decarbonise our built environment.

We’ve heard about the minutiae of taking our existing commercial building stock green – what kind of buildings are best suited to fully retrofit and electrify.

We’ve glimpsed into the finance numbers and the business case for smaller discrete interventions into existing structures.

And we’ve taken a bird’s eye view of the policy bazookas shooting over the hill our way, making sure we all sit up straight and pay attention.

For our final masterclass in the series, #5 Portfolio Transitions, we look at what the top end of town is doing with its portfolios of buildings – both premium and sub-premium.

Danny De Sousa, vice president – ESG and innovation, Brookfield Properties and Steven Peters, chief sustainability officer, ISPT, will star on the owners’ side.

Natalie Slessor, executive managing director – property management, CBRE, who’s newly arrived from Lendlease, will look at the context for action that her new company’s bevvy of clients face now and in the next few years.

And Zoe Baker, sector lead, National Australian Built Environment Rating System (NABERS), will bring her talents to moderating the sessions. She’ll help prise from the audience online and in person, the spikey questions we all need to know the answers to.

If you want to attend in person at CBRE offices in Sydney please send me a note – we have a few in tix available tina@thefifthestate.com.au
