28 February 2014 – It’s easy to see what our most popular stories are by glancing at our weekly and monthly rankings on the front page. But at The Fifth Estate, our readers are also clearly motivated by intensity. So what are our most deeply read articles?Keep in mind that a linger time of just under a minute per page is considered very good on websites.
The story on indoor toxins is rates a phenomenal 5.18 minutes. Understandable when you think how personal this issue is and how it can affect us all – in homes, offices – any indoor space.
Siobhan Toohill is next top read. The interview is a catch up with Toohill nearly 12 months into her new job at Westpac. The score? A huge 4.23 mins. No surprises there. Toohill has some serious fans in green.
The interview just edges out a great story from Willow on the Wagner family, which is promising – believe it or not – the world’s greenest airport, at Toowoomba. Time on post: 4.21 mins.
The most popular story this week, is the CSIRO report that greener houses can cost less than their energy guzzling counterparts. Cameron found this story, sitting there quietly on the CSIRO website, unannounced – no media fanfare to shout about this hugely important piece of research. Unbelievable really. Average read: 3.07 mins.
