But at The Fifth Estate, our readers are also clearly motivated by intensity. The story on indoor toxins is rates a phenomenal 5.18 minutes. Understandable when you think how personal this issue is and how it can affect us all – in homes, offices – any indoor space.
Siobhan Toohill is next top read. The interview is a catch up with Toohill nearly 12 months into her new job at Westpac. The score? A huge 4.23 mins. No surprises there. Toohill has some serious fans in green.
The interview just edges out a great story from Willow on the Wagner family, which is promising – believe it or not – the world’s greenest airport, at Toowoomba. Time on post: 4.21 mins.
The most popular story this week, is the CSIRO report that greener houses can cost less than their energy guzzling counterparts. Cameron found this story, sitting there quietly on the CSIRO website, unannounced – no media fanfare to shout about this hugely important piece of research. Unbelievable really. Average read: 3.07 mins.

On the monthly scorecard, there are no surprise that the Jobs section rates at the very top in terms of popularity. It usually does. It shows a deeply business focused readership that knows that following the jobs action means following the industry action. It’s a quick read, average 1.47 mins.
The deeper reads this month were topped by the freight train story on women in sustainability leadership. It included some wonderful cut-through comments from the panel. Average read time, 4.13 minutes, just ahead of the building profile story on 8 Chifley, Sydney.
