The NSW government will assist the Kingdom of Bhutan to build its environmental management capacity in the areas of eco-tourism, plant biodiversity, community education on environmental values, landscape design and fire fighting, Environment Minister Rob Stokes said on Tuesday as he signed a Memorandum of Understanding.

The NSW Office of Environment and Heritage will provide technical assistance in landscape design and environmental programs,the Royal Botanic Gardens and Domain Trust will provide expertise in managing plant diversity, and the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service will supply safety uniforms for park and forest workers for firefighting and assist with training programs for staff working on wildlife conservation.
